The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.

SASSA will be rendering providers like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it's alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.

“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The service level made for intervention experiences a large inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it tough to the workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more assets to empower the status sassa servicing of all prospects and improve entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553.
